Hackin'

Hello, just a quick note. It seems that this website was hacked last night, so that's where the spurious "Album update" notifications came from. Apologies if that bothered you. Apparently a hacking group called "KDG" have overcome the insurmountable walls of defence I placed around this website, and placed the photos on album to crow about this.

Those insurmountable walls are roughly equal to sugar frosting in a flamethrower, so I can't say I'm very impressed. I have always assumed that this website was of such insignificance that no one would wish to attack it for financial reasons, and that people would be good-natured enough not to do it out of spite.

I don't feel that there is any cause for alarm. The passwords you have used on this website are stored encrypted, so they shouldn't have been able to get hold of those. My best guess is that they simply tried a few thousand random passwords against my account (which has admin privileges) until they could get in, and then used that. The admin account has no access to the database backend - that's administered entirely separately. Nevertheless, if you feel concerned, and seeing as how this website is pretty much unused these days, you may wish to delete your account.

Have a nice day!
